March was a mixed month for me. I started off as you see here with a big 200+ pip win followed by a full 1R loss, but then got it back on my next trade. So far so good.I then entered a clear losing streak. The thing I want to say about this is that I am aware that this is because my mind was in the wrong place - its not like I was trading fine and this is just bad luck due to the market, I really was not in the right head space for trading. The real problem with these times is that I find I also don't recognize I'm in the wrong head space... Not sure what to do about this yet - possibly I need to formulate some rule such as 3 losses in a row, take a week off etc.
However I then managed to get back into gear towards the end of March and ended up around 180 pips. Not a lot to show, but better than a down month. I'm not totally happy with the way I trade - I intend to test a few new ideas I've had this month, one of which I just wrote down as a clear strategy called "Break 50"...
Another thing I have noticed this month (and at other times) is that I only have a certain amount of creative energy. If I spend it on one thing I have less for another; this month work has been more demanding creatively and I have noticed that I've got no juice left for blogging etc. Its a strange phenomenon, you may notice it yourself.
This may also be in some way connected to the above mentioned losing streak. If your life is sapping your mental energies in other things, then you'll have non left for the clear thinking that is needed for discretionary trading.
